Unit 6 Finalising your ideas

Image
Finalising your ideas From my first film shoot in Spain the results where great although I wish I had been more decisive about my shots and brought more film to take more shots. From this shoot I selected three of the images to be part of my final images.  Next was the York shoot which out of all the shoots didn't go so well although I would say that if I was to shoot it again I would go on a particular busier day.   The next shoot was black and white. I enjoyed this shoot because I like the way black and white film looks visually and how it can make the images look more dramatic. My last shoot was in Leeds and Bradford where I wanted to get as many shots of people and local buildings as possible.  Here is one of my final images I like the colour and exposure of the image and the shadows off the fence make the guy look like he's walking on spikes. The aperture and focus are great as everything is is in focus and the colour is really nice.  This next ima...

Unit 6 Project evaluation

Project evaluation The first task that we did was secondary research also known as task 1, this task was split up into three parts. Task 1a was genre research where we had to research eight photographers from four different genres. For this task, I started off with picking four genres which ended up being Photojournalism, Landscape, Architectural and Documentary. For photojournalism, I picked Robert Capa as my historical photographer because he seemed very interesting and had an amazing talent when it came to photojournalism. I then picked John Bulmer as my contemporary photographer who was famously known for his early use so colour in film. In my opinion, he is one of the greatest photographers to come from England. For my landscape photographers, I picked Edward Weston as my historical photographer, the reason I picked Edward was that he created a mass amount of negatives using his 10 by 8 camera and he was known to be the best of whatever he chose to do be it still life, n...

Unit 6 Ideas for exhibiton

Image
Mounting and Presentation For my exhibition, my Images will be photo print paper and the size of my final four images will be A3 because sadly ProAm doesn't do 20cm by 14cm. The colour of my images will be full colour and the texture will be matte. The shape of my images will all be square. For the exhibition, I will have four final images which show the similarities and contrasts between Leeds and Spain. These four images will be hung in the middle all in a row. My images will all be hung via bull dog clips to give it a simple yet elegant look.

Unit 6 Darkroom prints

Image
Here are my test strips, the first one is two different exposures. The first one is 2 seconds and then the second one is 4 seconds. The second test strip includes three different exposures the first one is 2 seconds, the second one is 5 seconds and the last one is 7 seconds.  This print has been exposed for two seconds and to me is perfectly in focus. The framing, however, is a little odd as I can't frame to save my life. I also cut off the corners as my own style.  This image is also exposed to two seconds, however, I think that it came off too dark and the framing is off but overall the image is in focus.  This image has an exposure of two seconds and is mildly out of focus. The framing, however, is quite good.  This is the same image with the same exposure of two seconds but it is in focus and has worse framing. This image has been exposed for two seconds and is in focus, however, the framing is bad.
