Secondary research

Robert Capa was a Hungarian war photographer and
photojournalist. During the rise of Hitler Capa moved to Paris and changed his name to Endre Friedmann. He covered five wars which included the Spanish Civil War, the Second Sino-Japanese War, World War II (across Europe), Arab-Israeli War and the First Indochina War.
For this specific photo of the Spanish Civil War taken by Robert Capa, I think it is a great photo because it captures a point in time that we wouldn't have seen otherwise and I think that the composition of this image is interesting.
John Bulmer is a photographer famously known for his use of colour in photojournalism he started working at a young age and even worked for Sunday Times Magazine from their very first issue in 1960 till the 1970's.

He then went on to filmmaking after the Sunday Times Magazine went into crime and fashion articles. Here are two photos of John Bulmer's work. This photo below taken by John Bulmer, in my opinion, is one of the greatest pictures taken in England. The photo has amazing exposure as it is just right. The aperture is probably f22 as everything is in focus and there is no noise so the iso is 200.

Edward Weston was a 20th-century photographer who produced a series of photographs of landscapes, still lifes, nudes and portraits. In 1937 Weston produced nearly 1,400 negatives using his 8x10 camera. At a young age, Edward knew he wanted to become a photographer he started out doing the same style everyone else was doing at the time which was soft-focus pictorialism.
Julius Shulman was an American architectural photographer who was best known for his photograph "Case Study House 22, Los Angeles, 1960. Pierre Koenig, Architect." As a young man, Julius earned pocket money by selling a few photographs to his fellow students. Julius's photography spread around California and the world through multiple books, exhibits and personal appearances.
He opened up a studio in 1950 and he remained in business full-time until the late 1980's. This photo is one of Julius' famous pictures. I like this photo a lot because the composition and lighting along with the aperture are amazing. I also think that all around this image has everything perfect the foreground and background are technically and aesthetically sound.
Margaret Bourke-White was an American documentary photographer who is best known as the first foreign photographer permitted to take pictures of the Soviet five-year plan and the first American female war photojournalist to have her photograph on the cover of the first issue of Life magazine.

Landscape

Edward Weston was a 20th-century photographer who produced a series of photographs of landscapes, still lifes, nudes and portraits. In 1937 Weston produced nearly 1,400 negatives using his 8x10 camera. At a young age, Edward knew he wanted to become a photographer he started out doing the same style everyone else was doing at the time which was soft-focus pictorialism.
He then later abandoned that style and went on to become one of the champions of highly detailed imagery. This image is a great shot of the Dunes in 1936. I like this photo a lot because in my opinion it has such great detail as the focus is on everything and the clouds and hills are very aesthetically pleasing to me. The hills give it that atmospheric perspective.
Joe Cornish is a landscape photographer notably known for his large format landscapes. In 1980 Joe graduated with a degree in fine arts and then went to America to train as a photographer's assistant. In 1982 he moved back to London and started working as a freelance assistant and then started his own commercial photography.
In 1986 his early landscape and travel were accepted into Charlie Waite's photo library. From 1986 till 1995 Joe's photography was in more than thirty travel books. For the past 20 years, Joe has been photographing the North Yorkshire and still continues to. This image is the gateway to the North Yorkshire Moors. I like this image a lot because it has great focus and aperture of probably f10, but I wish the grains of wheat at the bottom of the picture weren't blurry. My favourite part of this image is the background with the hills. This is because it is lit perfectly by the sun.

Mohammad Reza Domiri Ganji is an Iranian architectural panoramic photographer. Mohammed is best known for his features of Persian/Islamic buildings, on his website he classifies his jobs in categories such as Architecture, Panoramic, Documentary, Conceptual and Landscape. Although he is mostly famous for his shots of historical monuments.
This image of poor people stood in front of an advertisement with a picture of how they should be living. This is a great insight to how those people were living at a time. The image has great composition, focus, aperture, exposure and the foreground and background.
Anna Fox is a British documentary photographer known for her combative, highly charges use of colour and flash. Fox first became known for her 1988 documentary study of London office life on the mid-1980's, Work Stations: whiOffice Life in London. She is perhaps known best for her Zwarte Piet series made between 1993 and 1998 which was published shortly after. Which include "black face" folk culture traditions that take place in the Netherlands. This photo has great contrast and exposure I love how the photographer has used high charges of flash and colour.
