Unit 29 Analysis of final images
This image is of a young boy and girl talking and walking
through the chaos, I took this photo in Bradford city park on the 8th
of August at 3:46pm and I took this image because these two subjects seemed
very joyful and interesting. For this image the techniques I used was depth of
field and lighting, I created this by focusing on my two subjects with my
75-300mm this is because with a longer lens zoomed in it blurs the background
and foreground of your picture. For lighting I just used the natural light
source, the sun. My shutter speed was 1/250th, my aperture was f/5.6
and my ISO was 100. After I took this shot I then went in to light room and
edited the brightness and contrast by 10% to highlight my light and darker
areas more. I also edited the vibrancy by 5% because I wanted my photo to be
more vivid and cropped to my liking.
I had no problem with the editing process
therefore once I edited my photos I was quite pleased with the outcome. With taking the photo itself the only problem I encountered
was not having a tripod, this is because a couple days before my shoot my
tripod broke. The way I overcame this problem was having a hand grip so that my
photos weren’t going to come out as shaky. I think this photo represents the
theme well because you have all things summer packed in to it from the weather
to the children playing.
If I did this project again I would plan differently because
these six photos are all from the same event and I think next time I would like
to have more variety with my pictures, so I can show a broader representation
on summer.
This image was taken in Bradford city park on the 8th
of August at 3:46pm. This photo is of a young girl who was shouting to her
brother to come in the fountain with her, the techniques I used was depth of
field and lighting, I created my depth of field by focusing on my subject,
using an aperture of f/4.5
and my 75-300mm lens. My shutter speed was 1/250th
and my ISO was 100. For my light source I used the sun which worked perfectly
as you can see it reflecting on my subjects face and body. After the shoot I
went in to light room and edited my brightness and contrast by 5% just to make
the picture stand out more and contrast pop the colours better.
I also edited a
vibrancy of 5% to make her swimming costume and clear skin stand out better. I
then cropped my image to my liking. With
this photo I edited it two separate times due to the colours, this is because I
was unsure if I wanted more vividness or not. I came to the conclusion that the
photo only needed a slight edit.
There were no other problems with taking or editing the image. I think this photo fits my overall theme of what I’m trying to represent in summertime, which is children having fun on their holidays. If I were to do anything differently about this photo it would be to have changed my angle of it, this is because we see the left side of this subject and not full centre which I would’ve preferred.
This image was taken at Bradford city park, on the 8th
of August at 3:48pm. The image is of a woman holding her baby walking through
all the fun around her yet she seems sad. The technique I used for my third
image is depth of field you can see I created this by using 75-300mm lens and
an aperture of f/5.6. You can also tell that I used a shutter speed of 1/160th
because of the blurry child running across the photo, my ISO also stayed the
same at 100.
This photo I edited in light room only a little bit. I edited the
brightness and contrast by 15% and vibrancy by 3% just to have a little more
colour pop, I then cropped it to my liking. My photograph indeed turned out the
way I exactly wanted it to, although I would’ve liked when shooting to get the
woman dead centre instead of a little to the left. I encountered no problems
unless you would call this kid running through the photo a problem but I think
it worked out well with him in the photograph. I think this is probably my
favourite image and it fits my theme perfectly this photo to me captures fun
and summer.
This image was taken in Bradford City park on the same day
August 8th at 3:59pm. This image is of a little girl trying to sit
on a fountain. For this image I used depth of field and lighting, I created the
depth of field by zooming in to my subject with my 75-300mm lens and had an
aperture of f/5.6.
the shutter speed for this shot was 1/200th and I
had an ISO of 100. My lighting source was just natural light from the sun.
After the shoot I edited my brightness and contrast by 5% and edited my
vibrancy by 3% because I wanted to make the photo a little brighter to
highlight the sun on her and to bring out all the colours on the photo. I also
cropped the image to my liking. This photograph turned out very well although I
would’ve liked to have had a more stable hand because the photo was very
un-straight but luckily thanks to the cropping I was able to make it as
straight as I possibly could. I think this photo represents my theme very well
because you see her and all the kids splashing around in the summer heat.
This
image was taken at Bradford city park on the 8th of August at
4:09pm. The photograph is of two brothers swinging each other around as they
try to shield one another from the water guns. The techniques I used within
this photo are depth of field and lighting, to create this effect I used my
zoom lens and an aperture of f/5.6. I froze the motion of the water and the
children by using a shutter speed of 1/200, my ISO was also 100. I edited this
image multiple times because of an issue that occurred but after I edited the
images brightness and contrast by 50% brightness and 10% contrast.
I also
edited the vibrancy by a lot on my first edit but after my final edit no
vibrancy was added. I also cropped my image to my liking. This photograph had
quite a bit of editing issues after I saved very vibrant image over my original
file this caused me to edit the photo two other times to fix the issue but you
can tell still that it his face is very vibrant because of the previous edit.
If I did this image again I would’ve framed my image a lot better and save my
edits as a separate file. I think this photo represents my theme well because
you see a lot of movement in the background and this all resembles fun with
water in the summer.
This image was taken on the 8th of August at
4:13pm in Bradford city park and the image is of a little boy running away from
the fountain with his toy spider-man. The techniques for my final image is the
same as the other ones of course, depth of field and lighting. I created this
by using my zoom lens and aperture of f/5.0 I also had an ISO of 100 and my
light source was natural light by the sun.
This worked well because as you can
see the child, his toy and the fountain are in focus and the rest of the image
is not. After the photo was taken I then loaded it up in light room and edited
the brightness, contrast by 5% and vibrancy by 8%.
I then cropped the image to
my liking. This image turned out way better than expected because in my
opinions all the settings are just right on it and you have that cool shadow on
his stomach. Cropping was the only problem because the spider-man’s feet are
cut out because I needed to cut out a background subject. This photo represents
my theme very well because it shows joy and summer time with the sun and
surroundings.
